BIO

Jacob Pinger is a Los Angeles born cinematographer and Local 600 Camera Operator with a wide range of work experience. From films and documentaries to music videos, “reality” and commercials, Jacob has developed his skills in a variety of venues. He is well versed in a wide range of shooting formats, including 35mm, super-16mm, HD, XD-Cam, DVC-Pro, P-2, and HDV.

Having received his bachelor’s degree at the University of California at Santa Cruz, Jacob attended the American Film Institute and was the only student to receive a full scholarship for his first year in the cinematography program (’96-’97).

In the years following his stay at A.F.I. Jacob has paid his dues by working his way up the ladder, from focus puller to lighting technician to camera operator and ultimately union camera operator and cinematographer.

Through his work, Jacob has traveled throughout the United States, Latin America, Europe, Australia and Asia, in the employ of such clients as Fox, NBC, History Channel, Showtime, MTV, Bravo, HBO, ABC, TNN, VH1, and Comedy Central. Jacob is a Spanish speaker.
